For the first time, France established a standing army and military hospitals for its veterans. Today, Les Invalides still treats our wounded service members and hosts national tributes to our fallen soldiers in the presence of the President of the Republic.

As the headquarters for our prestigious military institutions, Les Invalides also houses a world-unique museum spanning 1,500 years of history, from the Middle Ages to modern wars.
